Mississippi's Top 50 Most Influential
When Willie Bozeman first visited the Mississippi Capitol as a child, there was one black legislator out of 174. At age 31, he became a legislator himself serving a largely rural district.
Willie Bozeman learned the legislative process as a two term House member, but since 2000, he’s been wearing the lobbyist hat and roaming the halls of the Capitol. His background gives him instant credibility with legislators.
He has a remarkably diverse base of clients. Representing everything from hospital and gaming interests to more political organizations like Southern Poverty Law Center and the Mississippi Association for Justice, he is able to juggle it all for his clients and be one of the more effective advocates in the Capitol.
Mississippi Top 50 is an annual list of the people who are judged to be the most influential leaders in the state. This bipartisan selection of leaders comes from the ranks of elected and appointed officials, economic development professionals, business, media and government affairs. The awards are sponsored by Y’all Politics and Supertalk Mississippi and awardees were nominated through an open process.
