Mississippi's Top 50 Most Influential
Worth Thomas is one of the more active lobbyists in the state Capitol. Since 1996, his client mix has included cities, airports, corporate interests, foundations, energy companies and communications firms.
More importantly, he’s also someone with whom other lobbyists can work. His relationships with elected officials are on both sides of the aisle and on legislative matters, he’s one of a handful of bridge-builders in the mix.
Outside of his efforts in the Capitol, Worth currently serves on the Board of the Christian ministry called Life House and is the Southeast USA Volunteer Chair of American Red Cross. In 2005, Worth Thomas served as Chairman of the Central Mississippi Red Cross Chapter and Chairman of the State Coordinating Committee, serving at a pivotal time in our state during Hurricane Katrina. Worth Thomas is a member of the National Steering Committee for the YMCA, and he served as Chairman of the YMCA Metro Jackson Board from 2014-2015.. He has also made annual mission trips to Africa since 2007. He’s just completed his most recent trip to Rwanda where he focused on helping children and the disabled there.
Mississippi Top 50 is an annual list of the people who are judged to be the most influential leaders in the state. This bipartisan selection of leaders comes from the ranks of elected and appointed officials, economic development professionals, business, media and government affairs. The awards are sponsored by Y’all Politics and Supertalk Mississippi and awardees were nominated through an open process.
