Mississippi's Top 50 Most Influential
To call Mayo Flynt a civic warrior would not be hyperbole. He is incredibly involved in community pursuits and economic development policies that affect all Mississippians.
He is a past-chairman of the Mississippi Economic Council, the Mississippi Partnership for Economic Development, Innovate MS, and the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership where he currently chairs the Lake Development Task Force, dedicated to the development of a flood control lake in Jackson that stands to have enormous economic development impact for Central Mississippi. He currently serves as Chairman of the Mississippi Museum of Art Board of Trustees where he in recent years spearheaded funding for the popular downtown Jackson Art Garden at MMA.
With nearly a decade at the helm as President of AT&T Mississippi, he is involved in all facets of the business here including external affairs, regulatory affairs and public policy. Prior to working his way up through the ranks at AT&T, he served on the staff of Senator Thad Cochran in Washington, DC.
