Henry Barbour serves as managing partner of Capitol Resources LLC, one of the leading lobbying, government relations and issue advocacy firms in the South. The firm has offices in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. Barbour also runs BullsEye Public Affairs, a campaign and communications firm.
Henry is a leading Republican strategist and operative and serves as National Committeeman for Mississippi on the Republican National Committee. In 2013, Henry co-authored the RNC’s Growth and Opportunity Report, which developed a plan to grow the Party and improve Republican campaigns. He also serves on the RNC Executive Committee and Rules Committee and has been active with the Republican Governors Association since 2003. In addition, Barbour chairs the Data Trust, the GOP warehouse for Republican and conservative voter-related data, and was founding chairman of WinRed, the GOP online fundraising platform.
He has served as a close political advisor over the years to Chairs of the RNC and former governors Rick Perry and Haley Barbour. He’s run gubernatorial, congressional and super PAC campaigns; plus, worked or volunteered on presidential campaigns, starting with the 1988 Bush campaign. National political reporters often seek his views, and he has been quoted many times in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Politico and appeared on Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, CSPAN, PBS, NPR, etc.
Barbour is in his 10th year as an adjunct professor at Ole Miss. Following Hurricane Katrina, Henry served as the Executive Director of the Governor’s Commission on Recovery, Rebuilding and Renewal. Henry and his wife Georgie live in Yazoo City and have three daughters. Henry serves as a deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Yazoo City. In addition, he is a sparring partner for many local high school tennis players and enjoys taking photos.
