Mississippi’s Top 50 Most Influential

Recognized as one of the top lobbyists in the state of Mississippi, Sidney Allen Jr. serves as Senior Government Relations Advisor at Butler Snow Law Firm where he helps clients reach successful outcomes with their respective policy issues. These clients, ranging from education and healthcare companies to technology and media corporations, rely on Sidney for his expertise and the relationships he’s effectively built over the last two decades in Washington D.C., the halls of the Mississippi State Capitol, and throughout the many agencies and organizations across state government. For the last twelve years, he has led the highly respected state government relations team for Butler Snow. Allen
also currently serves as the Finance Chairman for the Mississippi Republican Party, under the leadership of MSGOP Chairman Frank Bordeaux, and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Business and Industry Political Education Committee (BIPEC).

Sidney is committed to Mississippi, having served in a number of capacities in the non-profit world with the goal in mind to improve the quality of life for Mississippians. He has dedicated his time by serving as the President of The Phoenix Club of Jackson raising money for the Boys & Girls Club of Jackson, MS; as Co-Chairman of the Friends of Children’s Hospital Golf Tournament which has raised nearly $2.5M for the Child Life Program at Batson Children’s Hospital; and on the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame & Museum. In addition, he serves as an Advisory Board Member for First Commercial Bank in Jackson, MS.

Sidney considers his most important roles those that involve church and family, having been married for fifteen years to his wife, Kristin, with whom he is raising two sons. He has served in several capacities at his lifelong church, Christ United Methodist Church, recently completing a successful term as Chairman of the Staff-Perish Relations Committee in 2022.
