Michael Goode spent the last decade working in the public finance division of Raymond James and Morgan Keegan, but is now back in the political realm as a lobbyist with Clearwater Group. Few people in the state command the respect that Goode gets among elected officials due to his background in finance, policy and politics.
Michael cut his political teeth on the campaigns of Trent Lott, Roger Wicker, and Amy Tuck. In his work as Political and Communications Director of the Mississippi Republican Party, he has served as a campaign advisor to numerous legislative and mayoral candidates. He spent 4 years working on Capitol Hill for then-Congressman Roger Wicker and Congressman Van Hilleary, gaining a broad knowledge of state and federal issues in the process. He later served as the Director of Policy and Planning for then-State Treasurer Tate Reeves, where helped Reeves with his transition into office and worked on financial and budgetary issues for the state. Prior to his career in public finance, he served as a Public Policy Advisor at Baker Donelson law firm.
Now as a Partner at the Clearwater Group, he is working with an array of clients around Mississippi. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Mississippi State University.
