Mississippi's Top 50 Most Influential
Jeanne Luckey was active in the Republican Party for over 30 years, initially becoming involved in the local Republican women’s club. She died in November 2024 at the age of 63.
After working on many campaigns, she began training candidates and volunteers on winning campaigns. She served as president of the Mississippi Federation of Republican Women, held board positions on the National Federation of Republican Women and was Co-chairman of the Mississippi Republican Party.
At the national level, Jeanne was a Republican National Committeewoman for 14 years. She served as chairwoman of the Committee on Contests for the 2024 Republican National Convention.
Jeanne owned JCL LLC, a real estate holding company and was a member of the Coastal America Insurance Company Board of Directors.
She also served on the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning, having been appointed in 2018 by former Gov. Phil Bryant. She held leadership positions in the Junior Auxiliary, Children’s House School Board, Walter Anderson Museum Board and the Gulf Coast YMCA.
She was married to her high school sweetheart, Alwyn, and had two daughters and two precious grandchildren.
Jeanne graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in Special Education and the University of Southern Mississippi with a Masters in Special Education.
In her free time, she enjoyed watching Broadway plays.
