Mississippi's Top 50 Most Influential
A native of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, Wil Ervin has dedicated his professional career to the betterment of his home state. Ervin is committed to building good-faith partnerships with Mississippi leaders and promoting policies that would positively impact Mississippi and her citizens.
Ervin is the Senior Vice President of Empower Mississippi, where he oversees the organization’s government relations, policy, and communications work. Prior to joining Empower, Ervin spent nearly a decade working in various leadership roles at the Mississippi Division of Medicaid, serving as the agency’s legislative liaison and, most recently, overseeing the agency’s health services and policy departments. Ervin also served as a Policy Assistant for former Mississippi House Speaker Philip Gunn during the 2013 legislative session and as an intern for former United States Senator Thad Cochran in 2012.
Ervin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Mississippi State University and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Walden University. In 2022, he married Dr. Savannah Stockton, a native of Meridian, Mississippi, and the two are expecting their first child in June 2024.
