Whitney Lipscomb is somewhat like a Swiss Army knife to the Governor’s office.
She currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Counsel to Governor Phil Bryant. She covers a wide range of areas for the Governor including serving as counsel on legal action facing the State, advising on all gubernatorial appointments, and providing policy expertise on key priorities. There is not much that happens in the Governor’s office that Whitney is not closely involved with. Most notable was the heavy hand she played in the success of the historic 2018 Special Legislative Session and the creation of a state lottery.
She has a passion for improving the lives of Mississippians and has established a reputation as a relentlessly hard worker and a strong advocate for policies that promote economic opportunity and the rule of law.
The Gulfport native is a graduate of Mississippi State University, where she is still proud of her Miss MSU days, and the University Of Mississippi School Of Law. Prior to the Governor’s Office Whitney was in private law practice.
