Mississippi's Top 50 Most Influential
Johnny Morgan has turned a metal barn off Highway 7 near Oxford into a destination political event in Mississippi. His Good Ole Boys and Girls outings are required stops for office holders and aspiring politicos.
More than that, Johnny is a Mississippi entrepreneur. As partner in Morgan White Group and MWG Employer Services, Johnny is an active participant in business services in Mississippi. The MorganWhite Group formed MWG Senior Healthcare to assist seniors in understanding the numerous and sometimes complex changes taking place within the Medicare system.
From 1983-1991, Morgan served as a Mississippi State Senator, and after that he was a county supervisor in Lafayette County, where he ultimately served as its President. He has also served on the North MS Industrial Development Association, which is a subsidiary of TVA. He has also been involved with the Mississippi Board of Economic Development.
A graduate and active alumnus of the University of Mississippi, Morgan holds a variety of licenses in both the insurance and real estate businesses. His company pledged $200,000 to create the MorganWhite Group Scholarship Endowment in Insurance and Human Resources Management at the University of Mississippi.
