For a transplant from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dave Elliott sure is woven into the fabric of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Dave Elliott moved to Mississippi in 1980 and began work at several radio stations in the Jackson metro area. He went on to spend two years at WJTV before moving to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and joining WLOX in 1985.
Dave has now worked at WLOX in Biloxi for nearly 40 years. Along the way, he’s done just about everything in the television industry. Currently, Dave anchors the 4 o’clock show and the WLOX News at 5pm. He also hosts WLOX News this Week airing each Sunday morning.
In addition, Dave is the WLOX Political Reporter, making him the person to talk to on the Gulf Coast if you’re a political candidate or local/state elected official. He is also a Producer and Anchor of the digital newscast across all WLOX live streaming platforms.
In his free time, Dave enjoys traveling and spending as much time as possible playing all of the beautiful golf courses on the Mississippi Coast.
Mississippi Top 50 is an annual list of the people who are judged to be the most influential leaders in the state. This bipartisan selection of leaders comes from the ranks of elected and appointed officials, economic development professionals, business, media and government affairs. The awards are presented by Magnolia Tribune and WJTV, and sponsored by C Spire, Atmos Energy, Mississippi Farm Bureau, Capitol Resources, and The Payne Group. Awardees were nominated through an open process. Follow MSTop50 on Twitter @MSTop50 or on Facebook to keep up with news and updates about MSTop50 winners and events.
