Mississippi's Top 50 Most Influential

Lieutenant Colonel Jeremy R. Parker is the Deputy Director of Military Support for the Mississippi National Guard. In this position, he is responsible for coordinating Mississippi National Guard domestic operations and training with State and Federal agencies, the National Guard Bureau, and USNORTHCOM. Lieutenant Colonel Parker is the primary officer in charge of the Mississippi National Guard Joint Operations Center during domestic operations and standby missions of the Mississippi National Guard, providing time sensitive information to the Adjutant General of Mississippi.

In September 2020, Lieutenant Colonel Parker was appointed Commander of the Mississippi National Guard COVID-19 Joint Task Force where he led over 1,200 Soldiers and Airmen providing testing, logistics, and vaccination support to the Mississippi State Department of Health and Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.

A native Mississippian, he enlisted in the Mississippi Air National Guard in June 1999 with the 186th Medical Squadron, Meridian, MS as a Bioenvironmental Engineering Journeyman. In November 2004 he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant from the Academy of Military Science and subsequently began work as the full time Industrial Hygienist at the 186th Air Refueling Wing. In September 2006, Major Parker became the Environmental Manager for the 186th Air Refueling Wing. In August 2007, he became the Commander of the 186th Mission Support Flight and the 186th Air Refueling Wing Director of Personnel. Lieutenant Colonel Parker transferred to Mississippi Air National Guard Headquarters in February 2012 where he served as Military Personnel Management Officer and as Executive Officer until he was appointed Commander of the 172d Force Support Squadron in February 2017. In October 2018 Lieutenant Colonel Parker was selected for a joint assignment as the Director of Joint Plans and Training at Joint Force Headquarters. After completion of his joint tour, Lieutenant Colonel Parker was selected as the Deputy Director of Military Support for the Mississippi National Guard becoming the first Air National Guard officer to serve in that capacity.
