About the MSTop50

The Mississippi Top 50 awards aim to recognize people who make a difference in our state. Some of those leaders work to pass meaningful reforms that remove barriers to opportunity and improve lives. Others build businesses that provide goods, services and jobs. Some leaders shine lights in dark places, moving conversations forward, and some inspire us through music, food and art. Others lend a prayer or a hand to our neighbors. Some have toiled to better our state for a long time, while others are just getting started. All bear one thing in common–they are working to make Mississippi a great place to call home.

This year, the Mississippi Top 50 awards will recognize government, business, media, culture, community, and emerging leaders. Government awardees will include both elected officials, as well as government staff, government affairs professionals and advocacy champions. The Emerging Leader awards recognize those individuals 40 years of age or younger who have shown promise in leading Mississippi to a brighter future.

Nominations for the 8th Mississippi Top 50 and the Emerging Leaders will open in late 2024.
