Mississippi’s Top 50 Most Influential
Grant Callen is a sixth generation Mississippian who grew up in Laurel as the second oldest of ten children. He founded Empower Mississippi in 2014 as a solution center, tackling Mississippi’s biggest challenges so everyone can rise.
Grant graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Belhaven University and was selected as their “Young Alumnus of the Year” in 2009. Grant earned an M.A in Government from Regent University. He is an alumnus of The Witherspoon Fellowship in Washington D.C.
Grant lives in Madison with his wife Page and their five children, and Charlie the dog. Grant and Page are members of Redeemer Church, PCA, where Grant serves as an elder.
He hosts a biweekly show called “The Empower Podcast” featuring interviews with key Mississippi leaders and political players. He enjoys trail running, deer hunting, the Atlanta Braves, LSU Football, and family road trips.
Mississippi Top 50 is an annual list of the people who are judged to be the most influential leaders in the state. This bipartisan selection of leaders comes from the ranks of elected and appointed government officials, economic development professionals, business, media, culture, community, and government affairs.
